Last week, Part 1 of article 6 ended with the question, was there a
way out for Roger?
Roger continued to pray for God’s guidance. God had previously
done a lot for him, and he decided that the best thing for him to do
is to stop worrying about dying, and to consult the Living God,
who takes care of all things. He did not want any pity, for His
assurance was in the scriptures. One scripture that Roger thought
about was Matthew 4:23, 24 where it said that “Jesus went
around teaching, preaching, and healing all manner of
diseases…. They brought unto Him all sick people…, and He
healed them.”
God had previously led Roger to a special prayer ministry, and he
had seen how many people were healed. Roger prayed; “Now,
Lord, I am not trying to tell You what to do or how to do it. As I see
it, in 10 days I am scheduled to have surgery. If it is your will, let
Your great power of life permeate my being so that when the
surgeon operates, he will find no tumor or cancer present.” Talk
about faith and prayer?
His concern was also for the many individuals that he still wanted
to pray for, and he did not desire to waste time praying for himself.
He did not want to speak of His own physical needs, but instead
prayed that “God’s will be done in his life, to the glory of the
Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.”
With that prayer, Roger rested his case before God.
